Liberation Theatre Company is dedicated to supporting emerging Black playwrights by providing the resources, mentorship, and community needed to develop their voices and their work.
Our signature Writing Residency Program (WRP) has supported and nurtured 28 early-career playwrights in the development of original full-length plays. Liberation Theatre Company also played a key role in the early development of Harlem9, helping to lay the foundation for its emergence as a vital collective in the Black theatre community.
